Publications
ETS’06 will produce multiple publications.
· Formal Proceedings – Published by IEEE Computer Society, with ISBN number, and to be indexed in IEEE Xplore and other bibliographical search engines. The Formal Proceedings will be delivered on-site at ETS’06 and distributed to all attendees of the symposium.
· Informal Digest of Papers – Published by the ETS’06 organizers. The Informal Digest of Papers will be delivered on-site at ETS’06 and distributed to all attendees of the symposium.
· CD-ROM – Published by the ETS’06 organizers. The CD-ROM will contain all papers of Formal Proceedings and Informal Digest of Papers in PDF format, as well as slides of the corresponding presentations (if made available by the presenter). Also photos taken at ETS’06 will be included onto the CD-ROM. The post-conference CD-ROM will be manufactured after the symposium and mailed to all attendees of the symposium.
· Special Issue – IEE Proceedings on ‘Computers and Digital Techniques’ will publish a Special Issue on ETS’06, to appear in May 2007. IEE Proceedings are published by IEE, with ISSN number, and indexed in IEEE Explore and other bibliographical search engines. Selected ETS’06 papers will be invited to submit a journal version of their ETS’06 manuscript.
Submission Categories and Review Criteria
ETS’06 distinguishes a number of submissions categories. Different submission categories have different review (and hence, acceptance) criteria. Submissions to a particular category will be judged on the criteria of that category and compete for acceptance against the other proposals in that category. In principle, it is not allowed to send one submission to multiple categories. Also, it is not possible to submit to one category, but get accepted in another category. Hence, if you are planning to submit to ETS’06, please carefully select your submission category.
We distinguish the following paper submission categories.
· Scientific Papers – Scientific papers should present novel and complete research work, supported by experimental results. Only full papers of a maximum of six pages A4 should be submitted. If accepted for oral presentation in front of a full audience, the paper will be published in the ETS’06 Formal Proceedings. If accepted for poster presentation, the paper will be published in the ETS’06 Informal Digest of Papers.
· Emerging Idea Papers – These papers should present novel ideas, but perhaps lack sufficient supporting experimental results. Submissions consisting of Abstracts or Extended Abstracts only are accepted, but preference is given to full papers (of a maximum of six pages A4). If accepted for oral presentation in front of a full audience or poster presentation, the paper can, at the will of the authors, be included in the ETS’06 Informal Digest of Papers.
· Case Study Papers – These papers should present extensive experimental results of circuits, methods, or tools which by themselves are not necessarily novel.
· Student Forum Papers – Papers on research work carried out by one or more students. The lead author and target presenter should be a university student. The paper should describe the work and highlight the motivations and the likely innovations of the research. This category is suited for on-going work, especially work that is not sufficiently mature to be published in the other categories yet. Submissions consisting of Extended Abstracts only are accepted, but preference is given to full papers (of a maximum of six pages A4). If accepted for oral presentation in front of a full audience or poster presentation, the paper can, at the will of the authors, be included in the ETS’06 Informal Digest of Papers.
· Vendor Session Papers – These technical marketing papers focus on new features of test-related products, such as EDA or ATE tools and techniques; true technical content is preferred, but a slight commercial undertone is allowed. Submission is open to all, but corporate sponsors of ETS’06 will get preferential treatment in the selection process. Submissions consisting of Abstracts or Extended Abstracts only are accepted, but preference is given to full papers (of a maximum of length six pages A4). If accepted for oral presentation in front of a full audience, the paper can, at the will of the authors, be included in the ETS’06 Informal Digest of Papers.
In addition, ETS’06 considers the following submissions.
· Special Sessions – Proposals for panel sessions, embedded tutorials, and other special sessions. Proposers of Special Sessions are assumed to be able and willing to serve as organizer of the session, i.e., contact speakers, moderators, etc. Special Session organizers can also be speaker or moderator in their own proposal.
· Full-Day Tutorials – Proposals on test technology topics. Proposers of Full-Day Tutorials are assumed to be able and willing to serve as organizer of the tutorial, i.e. set up the program, contact speakers, etc. Tutorial organizers can also be speaker in their own proposal.
Submission
All submissions should be original and previously unpublished. Only electronic submission of PDF files via the ETS’06 web site (http://www.ieee-ets.org/) are accepted. The submission deadline is December 9, 2005. By means of their submission, authors agree to register for and participate in ETS’06, in case their submission is accepted for oral presentation or poster presentation.
· Scientific Papers – Only full papers of a maximum of six pages A4 should be submitted.
· Emerging Idea, Case Study, Student Forum, and Vendor Session Papers – Submissions consisting of Abstracts or Extended Abstracts only are accepted, but preference is given to full papers (of a maximum of six pages A4).
· Special Sessions – Submissions of any length are accepted.
· Full-Day Tutorials – Submissions need to include title, speakers and their bios, abstract, tutorial program and corresponding time schedule (for six hours of lecturing).
Paper submissions should be formatted as close as possible to the final format: A4 or letter pages, a maximum of six pages, double column, single spaced, Times or equivalent font of minimum 10pt.
Acceptance/Rejection Notification
Multiple members of the ETS’06 Program Committee, all experts in test technology, will review your submission. Your submission will be reviewed according to the description of its submission category. At the TPC meeting end of January 2006, accept and reject decisions will be taken, of which you will be notified by February 11, 2006. You will also receive the review ratings for and comments on your submission.

Presentation Preparation
Authors of submissions accepted for oral presentation should prepare a presentation in MS-PowerPoint. More detailed guidelines will be provided in due time.
Authors of submissions accepted for poster presentation should prepare a poster of max. 80cm (width) × 100cm (height). More detailed guidelines will be provided in due time.
IEE Proceedings CDT Special Issue on ETS’06
Authors of selected ETS’06 papers will be invited to re-submit a journal version of their paper to IEE Proceedings on ‘Computers and Digital Techniques’ for inclusion in a Special Issue on ETS’06, to appear in May 2007.
The selection of these papers will be made at a dedicated TPC meeting, immediately after ETS’06; inputs are ETS'06 review ratings, improvements in ETS'06 final manuscripts, presentation at ETS'06, and audience rating cards. Given the nature of IEE Proceedings, emphasis will be on Scientific Papers, but also strong Emerging Idea and Case Study Papers are eligible for inclusion in the Special Issue.
A re-submitted journal version paper should be at least 30% different from the published ETS'06 paper, e.g., with more theory, results, etc. The journal version papers have to adhere to the regular submission rules and guidelines applicable for IEE Proceedings and also the regular review and revision procedures will be applied. ETS’06 Program Chair Erik Jan Marinissen and Publications Chair Christian Landrault will serve as Guest Editors for this Special Issue.
