GUIDELINES FOR POSTER PREPARATION a Poster Board Poster Boards will be rectangular in shape, 1m wide and 2m high. We would recommend that authors do not use the lowest portion of the board so that the papers can easily be viewed without too much bending for delegates. However this is at the discretion of individual authors. A Title of Paper To achieve visibility of the titles of poster papers, your title must be clearly legible i.e. in lettering 50mm in height. Below the title should be the author name(s) initials and family names only, followed by organization(s) and address(es). A Text of Paper The text should be easily read from a distance of 2m. All tables and illustrations should be clearly labelled. Under no circumstances should any of the text extend over the total area allowed for the size of the poster, but beyond this, the following are recommendations only: * The poster display needs to communicate, it should be completely comprehensible by itself. It need not be a work of art. It should make clear what you did, why you did it, and how your work advances the understanding of the subject. * Do not use any material that cannot be understood from a distance of 2m. Graphs and photographs should be at least A5-size. * Give some visual indication of the structure of your poster, and note that colour can be useful for directing the reader's attention. A Setting up and Removal of Posters Authors are expected to be present at their board during Poster Session times for discussion. To know Poster Session times see PROGRAM. Authors should make contact with the Poster Chairmans prior to mounting their posters (see below). Finally, it is important for authors to carry an adecuate number of copies of the related paper for distribution to delegates. A Poster Chairmans
