Publications

ETS'10 will produce two publications:

• Electronic Formal Proceedings - with ISBN number, and to be indexed in IEEE Xplore and other bibliographical search engines. The Formal Proceedings will be delivered on-site at ETS'10 and distributed to all attendees of the symposium.
• Electronic Informal Digest of Papers - The Electronic Informal Digest will be delivered on-site at ETS'10 and distributed to all attendees of the symposium. It will contain the pdf files of papers accepted asPoster, as well as those of workshop-type papers, vendor session papers andother types of accepted submissions if made available by the authors. After the symposium it will also be completed with the slides of the corresponding presentations, if made available by the presenter.

In addition, the authors of the best contributions will be invited to submit an extended version of the paper to the "Journal of Electronic Testing: Theory and Applications" (JETTA), published by Springer.

Submission Categories and Review Criteria

ETS'10 distinguishes a number of submissions categories. Different submission categories have different review (and hence, acceptance) criteria. Submissions to a particular category will be judged on the criteria of that category and compete for acceptance against the other proposals in that category. It is not acceptable to send one submission to multiple categories. Also, it is not possible to submit to one category, but get accepted in another category. Hence, if you are planning to submit to ETS'10, please carefully select your submission category.

We distinguish the following paper submission categories:

• Scientific Papers - Scientific papers should present novel and complete research work, supported by experimental results. Only full papers of a maximum of six pages should be submitted. If accepted for oral presentation in front of a full audience, the paper will be published in the ETS'10 Formal Proceedings. If accepted for poster presentation, a one page abstract of the paper will be published in the Formal Proceedings. At the authors will, the full version of the paper may be published in the ETS'10 Electronic Informal Digest of Papers.
• Workshop-type Papers - These papers include emerging idea papers and case study papers. Emerging idea papers should present novel ideas, but perhaps lack sufficient supporting experimental results. Case study papers should present extensive experimental results of circuits, methods, or tools which by themselves are not necessarily novel. Submissions consisting of Abstracts or Extended Abstracts only are accepted, but preference is given to full papers (of a maximum of six pages). If accepted for oral presentation in front of a full audience or poster presentation, the paper can, at the will of the authors, be included in the ETS'10 Electronic Informal Digest of Papers.
• Vendor Session Papers - These technical marketing papers focus on new features of test-related products, such as EDA or ATE tools and techniques; true technical content is preferred, but a slight commercial undertone is allowed. Submission is open to all, but corporate sponsors of ETS'10 will get preferential treatment in the selection process. Submissions consisting of Abstracts or Extended Abstracts only are accepted, but preference is given to full papers (of a maximum of length six pages). If accepted for oral presentation in front of a full audience, the paper can, at the will of the authors, be included in the ETS'10 Electronic Informal Digest of Papers.

In addition, ETS'10 considers the following submissions:

• Special Sessions - Proposals for panel sessions, embedded tutorials, and other special sessions. Proposers of Special Sessions are assumed to be able and willing to serve as organizers of the session, i.e., contact speakers, moderators, etc. Special Session organizers can also be speaker or moderator in their own proposal.
• Student Forum - Proposals summarizing the work of M.Sc. and PhD students who are in any phase of their thesis elaboration. Students who have not yet obtained significant results can present and discuss their ideas as well as advanced students can put their work into a broad perspective.

Submission Process

All submissions should be original and previously unpublished. Only electronic submission of PDF files via the paper submission page of the ETS'10 web site are accepted.

• Scientific Papers - Only full papers of a maximum of six pages should be submitted.
• Emerging Idea, Case Study, and Vendor Session Papers - Submissions consisting of Abstracts or Extended Abstracts only are accepted, but preference is given to full papers (of a maximum of six pages).
• Special Sessions - Submissions of any length are accepted.
• Student Forum - Submissions must consist of a one-page (A4) summary of work, possibly accompanied by another page of figures and references.

By means of their submission, authors agree to register for and participate in ETS'10, in case their submission is accepted for oral presentation or poster presentation.

Paper submissions should be formatted as close as possible to the final format: US letter pages, a maximum of six pages, double column, single spaced, Times or equivalent font of minimum 10pt.

Acceptance/Rejection Notification

Several members of the ETS'10 Program Committee, all experts in test technology, will review your submission. Your submission will be reviewed according to the description of its submission category. At the TPC meeting early in February 2010, accept and reject decisions will be taken, of which you will be notified by February 15, 2010. You will also receive the review ratings for and comments on your submission.

Final Manuscripts

ETS'10 distinguishes four types of accepted submissions:

• Your Scientific Paper submission has been accepted for oral presentation. In that case, you must prepare a final manuscript of a maximum of 6 pages US letter for inclusion in the Formal Proceedings.
• Your Emerging Idea, Case Study, or Vendor Session Paper has been accepted for oral presentation. In that case, you are invited to prepare a final manuscript of a maximum of 6 pages US letter for inclusion in the Electronic Informal Digest of Papers.
• Your submission has been accepted for poster presentation. In that case, you are invited to prepare a final manuscript of a maximum of 6 pages A4 for inclusion in the Electronic Informal Digest of Papers and a one page abstract of the paper for the Formal Proceedings.

In preparation of all final manuscripts, carefully observe (1) the reviewers' comments and suggestions and (2) the IEEE CS Press camera-ready rules and guidelines while preparing this final manuscript. The deadline for the manuscript is March 15, 2010.

• Format of the paper should follow the guidelines for the IEEE sponsored conference Proceedings (two-columns format).
• The templates (DOC, LaTeX) are available on IEEE Templates site.

Presentation Preparation

Authors of submissions accepted for oral presentation should prepare a presentation in MS-PowerPoint or PDF. More detailed guidelines will be provided in due time. Authors of submissions accepted for poster presentation should prepare a poster of max. A0 (width × height = 841mm × 1189mm = 33.1" × 46.8"). More detailed guidelines will be provided in due time.
