City
walking
tour
We will start by getting to know the city of Maastricht better by means
of a walking
tour. In small groups, each accompanied by a local guide, we will explore
the ancient city center of Maastricht, of which the historic roots date back to
the days of the Roman Empire. We will see the prettiest spots of Maastricht,
including the Stokstraat Quarter, the Basilica of Our Lady at the O.L.
Vrouweplein, the Rampaarts, the Parks, the Jeker Quarter, and Vrijthof Square
with the Church of St. Jan and the Basilica of St. Servatius. |
De
Apostelhoeve
At the end of our walking tour, busses will pick us up and drive us to
the winery De
Apostelhoeve, a rare phenomenon in The Netherlands. De Apostelhoeve is the
oldest and largest winery of the country. We will get a guided tour through the
vineyard, wine-making facilities, and wine cellars. Of course we will also taste
some of the dry white wines bottled from Müller-Thurgau, Auxerrois, Riesling,
and Pinot-Gris grapes. |

Château Neercanne
Finally, busses will take us to Château Neercanne,
in the valley of the river Jeker at the Dutch-Belgian border. After a
demonstration of the handicraft of wooden shoe making, we will enjoy an
exquisite dinner with traditional Dutch entertainment at the Michelin-starred
Château Neercanne. |
